at fairfield and 38 in napa and 39 in santa rosa and fremont. already the temperatures are getting into that cold range, and we will certainly see them drop much lower by tomorrow morning. these are the forecast features. we will see frost and freezing. it will be sunny and cool in the daytime tomorrow. the rainy pattern continues through the weekend. overnight these are the low temperatures. we can expect 26 degrees and napa 27. 29 at fairfield and 30 at livermore and 30 at morgan hill. around the bay we will see lows in the midto upper 30s. very exilely to cold night for all of the bay area. and the bigger picture and the satellite-radar and composite image, this is how things are shaping up. the jet stream is flowing to the south and bringing cold air down on this clear and cold night. it will be the rain as this system from the northwest approaches us on thursday, and that rain is going to be with us for awhile. we will start our forecast animation at 5:00 on thursday morning. the beginning of rush hour on thursday. it will be mainly dry with a little rain developing in parts o
wake up tomorrow, numbers ranging from the upper 20s from fairfield, concord, livermore, the valleys of the north bay. some mid-30s around the south bay. lower 40s closer to the bay, by the afternoon, plenty of sunshine, warm up a couple of degrees but talking about the possibility of high elevation snow before the year is out. i'll tell you about that later. >> ama: crews in oakland today pulled a body out of the water near the marina in jack london square. homicide investigators responded after people spotted the body this morning. at this point police will only say it's a man who appeared to be in his 60s. police are asking anyone who may have information about him to give them a call. >>> also in oakland, the search is on for two masked gunmen accused of a takeover robbery at a restaurant. happened around 9:00 thursday night at thai noodles. the gunmen robbed four couple offers and employee of cash and took money from the register no reports of any injuries. >>> in an effort to ree prevent crime in oakland, church leaders and community members got together today to spread a power
and look at the temperatures and inland in livermore. 30's in fairfield, napa, and 39 degrees. we had a weather system our earlier that brought some of showers. these showers. however, have somewhat anticipated, for now. we will continue to see cold readings with 20's, 30's. and that is representing temperatures into the 20's. 20's already in the forecast for napa. fairfield and mid upper 30's by the bay and low 40's for san francisco. when we could have some slightly warmer weather on the way. >> an arrest has been made in connection to a deadly home invasion that took place in monte sereno. you are looking at video from the scene of the crime. sacramento police arrested de-angelo austin on suspicion of murder earlier today. he is the fourth person arrested in connection with the murder of 66 year old silicon valley venture capitolist - raveesh kumar kumra. the break in also left kumra's wife injured. los gatos-monte sereno police say the act was probably not a random one. now investigators are focusing on possible connections a suspect or suspects may have had to the victim's house.

for today. temperatures definitely on the cool side. right near freezing in fairfield, 32 degrees. 39 in antioch. so things are going to cool down before the sunrises at 7:25 this morning. 45 in san francisco and 38 in san jose. compared to yesterday we are 9 degrees cooler this time in fairfield, and about 6 degrees cooler in redwood city in los gatos. with the sunshine today the temperatures still won't come up as much because we have a cool air mass. so it's going to be clear and cold actually the next few mornings. do keep that in mind for new year's eve if you are heading out. dress appropriately. it will be dry and cool. we are running the latest models and it now looks like rain is way off the coast, not coming into the bay area at all tomorrow. a bright start for new year's day with a lot of sunshine. again, we could use the drying-out weather. here's a look at the satellite image. basically we have this area of high pressure. no storms heading through our way. i just wanted to quickly show you that forecast model for tomorrow night. the areas of green, way out in the coast. n

but fairfield police worried that the young man who posted comments following the massacre in connecticut was serious about what he wrote. sergio complimented the gunman who slaughtered all those people saying quote i give him prop for the small children. they are smaller harder targets that can hide. and ominously he wrote i legitimately have wanted to go into a mall and shoot people to see what it is like. luckily for everyone i am a saint person and probably won't ever do that. we went to his home and met his father at the front door. who explained his son was just being a foolish kid. >> i'm terribly sorry we can't make any comment at this time. >>reporter: at the high school where he once attended, a friend said she was certain that he meant no harm. >> no. i think because of his personality i think he was just playing around but there's a point where a joke goes too fa far. like and he definitely crossed that point. >>reporter: he later replaced the offending comments with an apology. but fairfield police were not convinced that it was sincere. >> he soften up a little bi

for cooler weather right now. check out napa, fairfield, these temperatures continue to fall. 34 in napa, 33 fairfield. otherwise a lot of low 40s. 42 in fremont and 43 in oakland. so weather headlines for you, obviously a very chilly start. these temperatures are 10 to 20 degrees cooler than what we saw at this time yesterday morning in some spots. it's going to be a cool afternoon and for the most part the rain should clear. still about a 20% chance of some light showers mainly along the coast. and then yes, even cooler still tonight where we have some freeze advisories in effect for parts of the north bay. we'll get to that in a minute. low pressure is the name of the game for the next couple of days. breezy conditions and once again, the rain for the most part has now moved east so it looks like we're staying dry. check out our futurecast here. it looks a little unsettled by about lunchtime. mainly along the coast. even that looks like mainly the rain is staying offshore and we are clearing overnight tonight and that's what's going to keep temperatures cool. we had several frost advisori
